Why our Fayre?

Firstly we love Christmas and everything it has to offer! So we wanted to bring the best of local food and craft to a great venue and add some Christmas magic.

We will have over 35 stalls offering a wide range of everything you will need for Christmas from local Sparkling Wines, to your Christmas Tree, organic food as well as that perfect gift.

As well as shopping and browsing what is available for sale we will have a lot more to keep you amused.

Santa's Grotto!

Santa appearing in his grotto has been a long standing tradition in the village of Shillingstone, so we are going to keep that tradition going. So come along and meet the great man himself.

Memorial Tree

Shillingstone was named in 1914 the bravest village in Britain due to the high proportion of residents who volunteered to join the armed forces. To commemorate this fact on the 100th Anniversary of the start of WW1 we have created a project to get the children of the local community involved. At our Fayre we will have a Christmas Tree decorated with poppies made by the Children of the Village, School and local Scouts and Brownies. Our gesture to the villagers who so bravely volunteered.

Open Workshops

Exhibitors 'Crochet Ali' and 'Martha and the Meadow' will be there on the day selling a variety of great products, but will also be on hand to demonstrate their crafts.

  • Ali Campbell will be showing you how easy it is to get hooked on Crochet, the basics and even let you have a go.

  • Whereas Emma Whicher, floral designer of Martha and the Meadow, will be making wreaths on the day and giving out tips on how simple it is to make your own.

Live Music

You will be entertained by the music of 'Honk Monster' street music with a twist. These talanted musicians will be spreading the Christmas spirit throughout the Fayre!

Hot Roasted Chestnuts

No Christmas Event would be complete without the smell of Hot Roasted Chestnuts, so we will have them on hand for you!

Visit the Alpacas

O.k its not Rudolf - but they are as close as we could get! Meet these three lovely Alpacas who will be there to meet and greet all who visits the Fayre. You will also have a chance to buy their lovely blankets, socks and yarn.

Steam Up!

The local area to Shillingstone has a history linked with Steam Engines. So in true Dorset fashion we will be showcasing some beautiful Steam Engines which are residents here in the village. You never know who you may find taking a ride aboard one!
